Unfortunately, this is going to be another in a long line of bad press problems for Israel. The story being told is that Israel attacked a flotilla providing humanitarian aid.
However, Israel tried to peacefully enforce its blockade of Gaza, and as the above video shows, the “peace activists” attacked first. As usual, Israeli forces cannot defend themselves without accusations of terrorism or similar acts.
First there was Farfur, a Mickey Mouse lookalike. He was beaten to death by an Israeli official for trying to claim land.
Then there was Nassoul the bee. He died when the Israeli blockade of Gaza prevented him from getting clean water and hospital care (or something like that; I’m doing this solely from memory).
Next was Assud the rabbit. He died at the beginning of January when Israel bombed the Al-Aqsa TV station during the recent conflict in Gaza.
Next up for martyrdom in Hamas’ continuing agenda of brainwashing children:
Children’s TV programming in Gaza. . . ain’t nothin’ like it!
From CNN:
Turkey’s Foreign Ministry summoned Israel’s ambassador to the Turkish capital of Ankara on Saturday to issue a formal complaint over a top Israeli commander’s reported remarks criticizing Turkey.
Basically, an Israeli commander claimed Turkey should sort out its own business before criticizing Israel, and cited the treatment of Turkish Kurds by their government. He’s right, but because he’s a high-ranking official in the Israeli military, this will get to be an overblown international incident.
UNRWA keeps the problem so they can keep their paychecks.
From The Jerusalem Post:
Hamas has accepted the Egyptian proposal for a cease-fire with Israel, the group said Wednesday evening, after talks in Cairo
So, if this works out, Israel will probably get to return to the way things were during the 2008 truce; Hamas still launches rockets into Israel, but Israel doesn’t retaliate.
From The Jerusalem Post:
Hamas on Monday raided some 100 aid trucks that Israel had allowed into Gaza, stole their contents and sold them to the highest bidders.
So, to sum up: Israel is allowing humanitarian aid into Gaza, a territory it’s currently at war with. The people ruling that territory are taking that FREE aid and selling it to the highest bidder. But Israel is the unjust faction here.
The zoo and a nearby school are booby trapped. I have to agree with Robert Spencer’s sentiment; is PETA going to complain?
From The Jerusalem Post:
IDF troops were advancing into Gaza City suburbs for the first time in more than two weeks of fighting with Hamas, Gaza residents said early Tuesday morning.
Hamas is finding out how tough the Israeli Army really is. However, I have to wonder how long Iran is going to sit on the sidelines…
The video in question:
CNN’s response: Gaza video genuine, journalists say
The obvious criticism would be the pantomimed CPR. However, the article linked above claims the kid was hit in the head by shrapnel. Unless the cameraman has done an excellent job of covering it, the child has no wound on his head!
