The Infamous Audi “Green Police” Super Bowl Ad

February 7, 2010 by Justin View Comments

Before making a big deal out of it, I want to know how many people out there would seriously support this type of code enforcement.

Help Us, Obi-Wan Obama, You're Our Only Hope!

January 18, 2009 by Justin View Comments

From The Guardian:

Barack Obama has only four years to save the world. That is the stark assessment of Nasa scientist and leading climate expert Jim Hansen who last week warned only urgent action by the new president could halt the devastating climate change that now threatens Earth. Crucially, that action will have to be taken within Obama’s first administration, he added.

So, if man’s attempts to end Global Warming Climate Change are failing, could it possibly be that this isn’t a man-made problem?  Maybe, just maybe, the warmth is part of a natural cycle of the Earth.

And where does that impending ice age fit in?

Barack Obama On "Price Signals" & "Bankrupting" The Coal Industry

Palin & Global Warming: Finally, a Politician that Gets It!

September 12, 2008 by Justin View Comments
From her ABC News interview last night:
“Do you still believe that global warming is not man-made?” Gibson asked Palin.

“I believe that man’s activities certainly can be contributing to the issue of global warming, climate change. Here in Alaska, the only Arctic state in our union, of course, we see the effects of climate change more so than any other area with icepack melting. Regardless though of the reason for climate change, whether it’s entirely, wholly caused by man’s activities or is part of the cyclical nature of our planet — the warming and the cooling trends — regardless of that, John McCain and I agree that we gotta do something about it and we have to make sure that we’re doing all we can to cut down on pollution,” Palin replied.

Full Article (ABC News)

Fact: The World is ever-so-slightly warmer, but not enough to cause alarm.

Fact: We don’t know what’s causing this. It could be man-made, but it may well be part of the climate’s natural behavior.

Fact: If anything is going to do Sarah Palin in, it’ll probably be her reluctance to jump on the man-made global warming bandwagon.

Carter Takes Up New Fight Railing Against Georgia Dams
By AP Staff Writer

. . . the 83-year-old stood before a squeaky microphone in the farming hamlet of Oglethorpe, assailing a plan to build three dams to provide water for drought-stricken Georgia, freshly picking a fight he won three decades ago as governor.

I’m just not seeing Jimmy’s gripe here. People need water, the Flint River can provide it. What’s the problem? Does he hate Georgia as much as he hates Israel or something?

The Myth of Man-Made Global Warming: The Deniers are Finally Coming Forward

Myth of Consensus Explodes: APS Opens Global Warming Debate
By Michael Asher

The American Physical Society, an organization representing nearly 50,000 physicists, has reversed its stance on climate change and is now proclaiming that many of its members disbelieve in human-induced global warming. The APS is also sponsoring public debate on the validity of global warming science. The leadership of the society had previously called the evidence for global warming “incontrovertible.”

Article Continues… (Daily Tech)

I, for one, am glad the facade on this one is coming down. There has never been solid proof that man is responsible for global warming, nor do we know enough about world climate trends to prove much of anything right now. It’s time to stop being distracted by this and start worrying about some REAL epidemics (cancer, diabetes, hunger, and poverty for starters).

Al Gore's Energy Restrictions

March 12, 2008 by Justin View Comments

“This ad focuses on the impact that Al Gore’s proposed energy restrictions would have on the world’s poor, and highlights the hypocrisy of Mr. Gore’s own high-energy lifestyle.”

I’m all for preserving the environment, but there are two big problems:

1) A sudden shift in how we do things is going to do some serious damage to the economy. If we don’t ease into things, people will lose their jobs.

2) On a personal level, I want no part of the environmentalist political movement. I suspect there are other eco-friendly conservatives out there that would agree.

HT: I got the above ad from NewsBusters.

Global Warmists Exploit the Holocaust

November 30, 2007 by Justin View Comments

When Ellen Goodman likened climate skeptics to holocaust deniers last February, she raised more than a few eyebrows. Yet, hers was not the first reprehensible use of that fetid analogy, nor, unfortunately, would it be the last. In truth, environmentalists’ deplorable trivialization of Hitler’s genocide can be traced as far back as the late 1980′s (by an ambitious senator from Tennessee) and as recently as last month by the scientist considered to be the world’s premiere global warming researcher.

Full Article (American Thinker)

Well, for starters, one of these things is believed to be a myth by certain anti-semites, the other actually is. For example: Warmist polar expedition was cancelled due to extreme cold

In all seriousness, this is even more proof that we’re far enough removed from the Holocaust for it to happen again, as we’ve lost all concept of the horror and severity of it.

Climate protest 'will be contained'

August 19, 2007 by Justin View Comments

Police were confident of being able to contain the expected climax of the climate camp at Heathrow Airport.

Protesters, buoyed by an influx of new arrivals, promised 24 hours of direct action, starting from midday on Sunday.

The move came after 20 anarchists from the camp broke into a warehouse in Hayes, owned by Carmel Agrexco, an Israeli fruit and vegetable importer. Up to six were arrested on suspicion of burglary, police said.

Amos Orr, general manager of Agrexco UK, said: “They broke in. A lot of them were drunk, they broke doors, spread papers everywhere and they were very aggressive. They were singing about Hamas.”

Remember Global Cooling?

August 5, 2007 by Justin View Comments

Oct. 23, 2006 – In April, 1975, in an issue mostly taken up with stories about the collapse of the American-backed government of South Vietnam, NEWSWEEK published a small back-page article about a very different kind of disaster. Citing “ominous signs that the earth’s weather patterns have begun to change dramatically,” the magazine warned of an impending “drastic decline in food production.” Political disruptions stemming from food shortages could affect “just about every nation on earth.” Scientists urged governments to consider emergency action to head off the terrible threat of . . . well, if you had been following the climate-change debates at the time, you’d have known that the threat was: global cooling.

Full Article (MSNBC)

While I do believe conservation to be a good thing, I also feel Global Warming is a myth that’s morphed into a political agenda that is no longer concerned with fixing the alleged environmental problems. We simply have not been on this Earth with the proper equipment long enough to know how the climate cycles really work.

Anyway, a couple of fun links:

A Newsweek article on global cooling from April 28, 1975.

A Time article on global cooling from June 24, 1974.

My buddy Harp’s take on this whole thing (from last April).
