From the “always do your research” file…
I recently had a friend tell me she’d met a guy via BigChurch.com. Now, my problem isn’t with her meeting someone, as I truly wish her all the best, my problem is with the site itself.
From all outward appearances, BigChurch looks to be your typical Christian dating site. There’s a Bible search tool on the first page, a goal of “meet people who share the same spiritual beliefs as you,” and even a testimony from someone with the user name of Slik101:
“I met Shawn on BigChurch.com and knew Jesus was in our relationship. Shawn is such an amazing blessing in my life. Thanks BigChurch!!”
However, I’m pretty sure the average Christian wouldn’t even type the url into their browser if they knew anything about the company that owns it.
FriendFinder Network Inc. is behind a LOT of dating sites. Among them:
friendfinder.com – a pretty standard dating/friendship site (they have variations of this site in 7 different languages all at different addresses).
SeniorFriendFinder – just what it sounds like; a dating site for older people
Jewish FriendFinder – A Jewish dating site
Gay FriendFinder – Again, just what it sounds like. Now you may think this is the site giving me grief. If only it could be so easy…
Out Personals – a site for homosexuals to hook up for sex
ALT.com – A site for people into super-kinky stuff to find sex partners (they’ve got Urolagnia on the list of potential things one would look for in a partner! 
)
and the big ol’ cherry on top:
Adult FriendFinder – now you may be wondering why my biggest problem is with this site, as it’s just a standard “hook up for sex” site, thus making it tamer than the other sex sites in this network. Well…
Anyone who’s devoted even 10 minutes of their life to looking at internet porn can tell you that AFF advertises heavily on porn sites. So, when you give money to FriendFinder Network Inc., regardless of your reasons or which site, you are guaranteeing that internet porn sites have the money to stay online.
Make sure to warn all your naive Christian friends.
