Ordinarily I fear these types of changes, as Israel could end up with someone worse than Olmert. However, another source is saying this could result in early elections. If that’s the case, then Benjamin Netanyahu will be Prime Minister, and he’s definitely a better option. At this point it’s all speculation, so take it for what it’s worth.
Netanyahu: Economy, not land, as basis for peace
Israeli opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu met with the visiting foreign ministers of Egypt and Jordan in Jerusalem on Wednesday, and informed them that if he becomes prime minister in the near future, the Saudi-authored Arab League peace initiative will no longer have Israel’s approval.
A couple of truths:
1) Netanyahu is probably the next Israeli Prime Minister.
2) He makes more sense than other potential candidates. (Ehud Barak? Are you kidding me?)
3) Nonetheless, he’s still a politician, which means he still has the potential to flop back to a “peace for land” stance with enough outside pressure *cough*PresidentHillary*cough*
