For those who don’t remember, Atzmona is a town in Gush Katif, and was part of the unilateral disengagement 2 years ago. I really wish I could say this surprises me…

There are Israeli Jews that are still homeless after the disengagement, and they were removed for this?

Olmert Offers Judea, Samaria, Divides J'lem in Draft Accord

August 31, 2007 by Justin View Comments

(IsraelNN.com) Israel`s government has agreed, in writing, to hand over 6,250 square kilometers of land – the equivalent of its entire biblical and strategic heartland – to an Arab terror state. So reports Dr. Guy Bechor, a leading expert on Arab affairs, who also supplies some of the details of the negotiations.

Bechor reports, based on “leaks from the Palestinian side,” that Israel has, in the past few days, presented Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas at least one draft of an “agreement of principles.”

Ehud Olmert is going to single-handedly destroy Israel. I wonder what the Israeli government offers in the way of removing a PM?

The Facade/Fallacy of the Israeli "Right"

August 10, 2007 by Justin View Comments

Don’t get me wrong, despite the title; I am no fan of the Israeli left either. Look at Israel’s history since the Camp David Accords in 1979 (with America’s favorite enemy of Israel, Jimmy Carter). Has anyone else picked up on the fact that all of these unilateral withdrawals (I prefer the Hebrew term girush or expulsion) that have occurred over the last few decades have been under the watch of “hawkish” Israeli governments.

Let’s take a look here at the trend:

Yamit (Sinai Peninsula) 1982 – As part of the peace treaty between Israel and Egypt, rightist darling Menachem Begin, initiates the girush from Yamit. At least, he didn’t take the $80 million in return for the buildings and infrastructure of the settlement from Egypt, instead he destroyed the settlement.

Madrid Peace Talks 1991 – Yitzhak Shamir sends a delegation to Madrid for “peace talks,” which essentially brought Israel out into the open as being willing to relinquish Yesh”a, something that had long been taboo for Likudnics. This peace conference is what led to the horrific Oslo Accords. These accords created the Palestinian Authority, cut up Yesh”a and included several Palestinian autonomous locations, and guaranteed weapons to keep order and fend off terrorists in those regions. What it actually did was arm the “Palestinian Terrorist Authority” to wage an even bloodier war with the Jews of Yesh”a and Israel as a whole.

Wye River Memorandum 1998 – Binyamin “Bibi” Netanyahu signs the Wye River Memorandum. Basically it was an agreement to implement much of the Oslo Accords that had yet to be implemented, among other things. You can read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wye_River_Memorandum. None of the items listed in the Wye River Memorandum were ever implemented as a result of the 2nd intifada (in which the Palestinians used the training and weapons received as a result of Oslo against Jews).

Ariel Sharon as Prime Minister – Av haYishuvim; yeah I referred to him as that. Ariel Sharon was a great war hero and champion of the settler movement. A man who consistently vowed (as a Likudnic) to never give in to terrorism and never relinquish one bit of the Land of Israel, becomes Prime Minister. During the elections of 2003, Ariel Sharon and the Likud defeat Amnon Mitzna‘s Labor contingency on a platform that is strong against terrorism. One of Amnon Mitzna’s primary platform objectives was a girush from Aza and parts of Yesh”a in hopes of creating a peace platform with the Palestinians. The Likud won the Israeli public’s favor rejecting the plan and maintaining (even doubling their power) government control. However, less than a year later Ariel Sharon took the plan as his own and began it’s implementation, thereby betraying all those people who kept his party in power. It was the ultimate betrayal from a man who so long championed the settler movement. Ultimately, he left the Likud (now led by Bibi Netanyahu) and created the center-left pary, Kadima. He fell into a coma in January of 2006. The effects of his policies linger today, not only leading to the girush of 10,000 Jews from Aza and the northern Shomron, but also leading to evictions from Amona and Hevron. These policies also emboldened terrorists and their supporters among the Palestinian population including the election of Hamas into leading the Palestinian Authority, Hezbullah’s incursion and kidnapping of Israeli soldiers (which led to the Israel-Lebananon War last summer), the ongoing Qassam attacks from Aza into southern Israeli towns, Hamas’ violent take over of Aza, etc.The list goes on and on.

Israel’s “rightist” politicians have been among her worst enemies as we can clearly see. Who needs enemies like Hamas, when you have “friends” like these?

More evictions in Hevron!

August 9, 2007 by Justin View Comments

On the heels of the forced eviction of two Jewish families from Hevron’s Shalhevet neighborhood – four more Hevron families living in the area have received eviction notices.

Full Article (Arutz Sheva)

It seems the siege on Hevron’s Jewish community is not yet at an end. Hasn’t the Israeli government realized that actions like this do nothing more than embolden Israel’s most vicious enemies and pushes away what used to be her most zealous supporters (that would be the yishuvim).

What happened when Israel evacuated Yamit? What about Aza? What about the northern Shomron? What about Amona? What was her repayment? Rockets from all around, wars with Lebanon, suicide bombings, and a democratically elected Hamas-led government (dedicated to destroying Israel). Nothing more! When will this nation realize that giving up land WILL NOT bring peace?

Israel has no partner in peace with the Palestinian people (at least not the ones in power…oh wait they voted them in).

Israelis Oppose Further Unilateral Withdrawals By An Overwhelming 74% – 18%

July 28, 2007 by Justin View Comments

59% of Israelis — Gaza withdrawal a mistake

New York – A new poll published in the Israeli daily newspaper, Maariv, has found that an overwhelming three-quarters of Israelis (74%) oppose Israel making any further unilateral withdrawals, whereas only 18% of Israelis support such moves. The Maariv poll also showed that 59% of Israelis regarded the 2005 Gaza/northern Samaria withdrawal as a mistake, with only 29% thinking otherwise. 51% of Israelis also believe that withdrawal worsened Israel’s national security situation, with only 12% believing that it improved it, while 71% of Israelis believe the government abandoned the Jews uprooted from Gaza, as opposed to only 19% who think it did not ( Independent Media Review Analysis, July 26).

So, now the bigger question: will the Israeli government listen to its own people, or cave in to outside pressure?
