Obama, Democrats Got 88% of 2008 Contributions By TV Network Execs, Writers, Reporters
Seriously, Mr. Tancredo?
You know, there was a point in time where a pretty large group of people wanted to “draft” Thomas Tancredo to run for governor of Colorado. Tancredo passed on that, choosing instead to tour the country making outrageous claims against the President.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I think something needs to be done about the illegal immigration issue, and President Obama’s increase in executive and overall federal government power needs to be reversed. However, I cannot stand behind Tancredo. This is the type of “lunatic fringe” speech that paints us all in a bad light. Tancredo is a big name, and that big name representing the “crazier” side of the conservative/libertarian contingent will get more press than anyone else. It makes us all look bad, and I don’t really care to be lumped in with that contingent.
Did Obama Beat Out Hillary Due To Voter Fraud?
This filmmaker seems to think so:
Viewing Public To Obama: “You Play Ball Like A Girl!”
It seems even the more polite reviews are saying the same thing as people on the street.
It’s easy, and tempting, to make fun of the President here. However, regardless of who it is, I see this whole throwing out the first pitch bit as unnecessary punishment for having people know your name, as everyone from the President to local news anchors take part in this tradition (as noted by any article on Obama’s pitch, started 100 years ago by President Taft).
You take some poor guy who A) was never an athlete, or B) was an athlete, but has let his skills decline, put him on a pitcher’s mound (or, in some cases, in front of a pitcher’s mound), with hundreds of people watching, and have him put his athletic skills on display (phrase most use to psyche themselves up for this: “just get it across the plate, just get it across the plate…”). How cruel is that?
“Hey, can you come out and throw the first pitch at our game next month?” “Sure, I’m not busy. I’ll gladly spend a Saturday afternoon being stripped of my manhood!”
LTC Terry Lakin to Pres. Obama: “Release your original signed birth certificate, if you have one…”
Birthers. They annoy the living crap out of me.
Don’t get me wrong, I can understand some of the anger from their side; presidential candidates have a list of requirements they must meet to actually be president, and it would be a horrible travesty if candidates/presidents-elect aren’t being checked out for these criteria. However, let’s see how Obama measures up
1) At least 35 years of age: President Obama was born August 4, 1961, making him 48 years old.
2) A least 14 years as a resident of the U.S.: He lived in Indonesia for 3 years as a young child, but the rest of his life has been in the U.S. (oddly enough, his political career spans exactly 14 years this year).
3) Natural-born U.S. citizen: According to factcheck.org, his birth certificate is legitimate.
Bottom line, Barack Obama meets all the Constitutional requirements to be President of the United States. He’s not required to show his birth certificate to anyone that questions this. Can we please move on from this?
Obama Vs. Israel: Settlements Straining Relationship
The following links were on The Drudge Report this morning:
Obama runs out of patience with Israel
US envoy cancels Mideast trip amid US-Israel feud
US Israel criticism ignites firestorm in Congress
Netanyahu defies U.S. over Jerusalem settlement
None of this is surprising, though. Obama’s sympathies are on the Islamic side of the Arab-Israeli conflict; we’ve known this from day one. In addition, peace is always placed above Israel’s national security in these situations. All I can say is that I really hope Israel stands its ground here. At the end of the day the Jewish state is an independent nation, and really needs to stop buckling to U.S. pressure and take care of its own needs.
Obama: "We had too little government…"
So, the economy is a mess because Obama’s cronies decided that home ownership is a right, got the banks to give out a bunch of sub-prime adjustable-rate mortgages, those mortgages were defaulted on, and the debt that was sold from one company to the next is now coming due and companies are crumbling because they need their money.
How would more government have prevented this, when the government caused it?
AARP Not Supporting Your Health Plan?
Well, that’s no reason to not say they are!
Could be a mistake, but I’m waiting to see what happens next. Sadly, I suspect Obama just stole AARP’s thunder in announcing this.
